2009 Goldfish National Show

MPKS Koi &Goldfish Show and AGA National Goldfish Show

The show was held the weekend of July 10 - 12, 2009 at the Darien Sportsplex and featured 109 fish. Of the 109 fish entered, 70 fish were 3 inches or larger. The quality of the fish was excellent, and Head Judge Art Lembke, and Candidate judge Nicole Lemke faced the difficult task of picking winners. Tun Tun (Fred) Win and Dan Young acted as shadow judges or the show. Fish seminars on goldfish and koi were presented on Saturday, and public judging of goldfish and koi was held on Sunday. Peter Ponzio acted as goldfish show chairman, and was assisted by Bay Bateman and Carol Loeppert. Over 150 koi were exhibited at the show, with Art Lemke acting as head judge with Nicole Lembke and Jan Thompson acting as assistant judges. Bryan Bateman acted as koi chair, and was helped by a variety of people, including: Kevin Karstens, Bob and Anne Passovoy, Steve Childers and Dale Gingerich, Carolyn and Charles Phelps and many others.
