MAKC Show 2005

The MAKC holds one of the largest koi shows in the United States.  The quality of the fish at the koi show are outstanding.  Beginning in 2005, the MAKC decided to hold a goldfish show, along with the koi show.

True to form, the MAKC held an outstanding inaugural show, with 62 goldfish competing for prizes.  All fish were truly exceptional, with the categories of Ranchu/Lionhead over 3", Oranda over 3", and Telescope under 3", being especially competitive.

Many thanks to the show organizers Jim Castillo, Wayne Orchard, Jim Reilly, Art & Nicole Lembke for making this show truly special.  Next year promises to be even better!   The quality of the goldfish, combined with the outstanding show set-up and venue, explains why  the MAKC has raised the bar for goldfish shows in the U.S.

Carolyn Weise, President of the Long Island Chapter of the MAKC, and frequent contributor to the Mid-Atlantic Koi Magazine, sent some photos to us, and allowed us to post them to the site.  Thanks, Carolyn, for the great shots!

Bob Brudd, President of The northern Midwest ZNA Club, also sent some shots, which we have included.  Thanks, Bob for the photos!
